In general, if they exceed the standard and there is mutual interest, then the offer will be automatic from us. Grades and test scores come in to play quite a lot. They do not have to be good enough to get into the university on their own, but they have to be good enough where we don't think they would be a liability if we were to push them through admissions. In general, they should be within the ballpark of "maybe" getting in to the school on their own.
Having good grades shows a lot of character to us as a staff. Same as having a compatibile personality with our team. These factors are important to maintaining a consistent team culture and could push a kid over the edge into scholarship territory.
We are fully funded, so when we want a kid we don't play around. Our basic offer is full tuition and books. Kids who qualify for financial aid will get even more money. If they don't qualify for aid, but need more money to come here, we are willing to pay for portions of housing and a meal plan. For athletes who do not hit the marks listed on or website, but are decently close and who might impact team culture, we typically do half tuition and books as the lowest offer.
Most schools do not have our funding, so full tuition and books would typically be reserved for absolute studs.
To the person asking about sprint/hurdle times:
10.65, 21.50, 47.70, 14.40 110h, and 37.50 300h for scholarship.
