While the pre-interview action was a PR disaster on twitter, the actual interview resulted in some good copy.
Farah talked about how he wants to move up to the marathon after the 2017 World Champs and talked about the 5000 WR.

On the 5000 WR:
"It's possible - I have thought of it and I do want to give it a shot but sometimes you have got to be honest with yourself and look at yourself.
"There are barriers. A guy like me, yes, I am good in terms of championship races and that's where I dominate - but in terms of running fast times I haven't quite done that.
"I've run 12'53 and you have to go under 12'50 and then you have to go 12'45 and beyond. The world record is 12'37. It's incredibly, incredibly hard and I will give it a shot but you've got to be honest with yourself. It's not an easy record.,,,
"Could I do a world record right now...could I do it straight away? No."
Here's what Mo Farah actually said in the #AskFarah interview on SkySports - Re: 5k WR and his marathon future

Apparently he is going to try to break world records next year
in that very interview he said he is closer to break the 1500 than the 5k -
I would love to see Mo go balls to the wall in a 5k time trial. Mo is at least a 12:45 guy and it would help to settle a few GOAT arguments.
That being said, I'll believe it when I see it. Considering the fact nobody else really seems to be going for either it in the 5k I'd be surprised if this actually happened -

Huh!!!! Is Farah saying he not reached his "potential" yet? Winning four Olympic distance golds was what? Establishing a base? Farah is playing with fire. -
he *has* not
-
To break the world record he's going to needs some great pacers. Who should they be? It's going to be a really difficult record to beat, and even the pacers are going to be taxed to the max.
-
WR pace = 7:34 through 3K. Not happening unless pacers are allowed to go full EPO.

Running 12:45 would not make Farah GOAT if that is what you are suggesting. He complains about not having pacers, but Bekele did 12:37 mostly WITHOUT pacers. Bekele also managed to actually regularly race his competitors in the regular season as well as in BOTH xc races. Farah has to save all of his energy for the championship event. Bekele also had much stiffer competition.
He will never be anywhere close to GOAT until he can focus on more than one meet per year. If 2017 is his last year on the track, then I don't see it happening. -

Farah was a 12:53 guy, once.
I doubt that he'll ever do it again. -

Ran 12:59 in July in London in atrocious conditions and alone the last two km. That combo temperature/dew point on the day made it worth it somewhere around 12:45. So there you go it is not as far as it seems... -
The temperature in London was not atrocious! Even in that field there were 6 seasons best in the top 11 (and athletes like Butchart did not geat an SB even though they probably had the best run of their lives).
Farah **may** be capable of 12'45 but his 3k has been poor. He seemed to struggle to break the British record, and the idea that he could have continued at that pace for another 2k (if he wants the WR) seems far-fetched. -
It was very windy that day in Birmingham though
-
What does his coach jama aden say?
i would like to hear his opinion -

STOP..... 79F in the stadium and 68 Dew Point on the day. you can easily look it on line how much the two affect your performance....
Being at the stadium on the day beats a minute browsing on the web any time.... -

His race was worth 12:59. No more no less. -
Jama aden only hold whistles and call out laps 4 Mo
nothing more nothing less -
He is at least honest about the World record. If he run a fast race and improve his PR. He will be considered one of the best ever.
-
No, he will be considered one of the best ever regardless of what happens from this point.
To be the GOAT, he arguably needs the fast times. -
I don't buy the argument about bad pacing duties!
Bekele almost soloed his 12:37 WR and Geb had really poor pacing in his own world record, had to dug deep to run a sub 4:00 last mile and 1:57 last 800m to dip under Komen old WR!
Farah is just not THAT good! He can kick but would never win a championchip if the fast guys were fearless and running the way Ayana did in the 10 000m in Rio!
The problem nowadays is that every runner think he can win the big show with his kick! Only those with the good Jama Aden's sauce can do it! -

But Farah needs pacers or else he won't get within 20 seconds of the 5k WR. In fact, Farah wouldn't break 13:00 in a all out solo effort.
