Seems like a great guy but i thought the stuttering was distracting and i am not sure he brought that much to the table in terms of supporting the broadcast. Let's put it this way, take away all his running accomplishments and he would not be brought back.

I disagree. I watched (and listened), and for all his running experience, I thought he would offer more race insight. He probably wants to but maybe he was told to keep it basic.
Alan was quick to report that Jenkins was making a strong move, and I thought that was a pivotal comment, as it helped me see the race unfold sooner than I otherwise would have. I think he has a good sense of things as a play by play guy.
Alan Webb is the Rudolf Valentino of Track and Field/Road Racing broadcasting!

Rono-Kip,
Masback is bad. He knows his stuff, but his boorish obsession with details blinds him to the actual race at hand in real time. I've seen him ranting and raving about a guy's ladder routine the week before as one of the greatest..blah blah blah..while the guy is getting crushed down the homestretch. Masback gets too caught up in his notes, what he wants to say in his allotted time that he forgets there's an actual real life race going on.
His partner is THE worst- Tom Hammond- the worst. The Dennis Mitchell equivalent in track broadcasting.

Masback does not seem that bad to me. But it is definitely time for Hammond to be put out to pasture.
Sanya Richards Ross did well at the Olympics; a good female counterpart to Ato Bolden for sprint commentary.
Agree, I thought Sanya Richards Ross was excellent as is Bolden. Would like to see and hear more from Webb commentating.
