Uh, little late to the party with that one Rojo.

Does Hill need to place well to get invited to more Diamond meets or do his times and other dredentials do the trick?
I'm a huge Jager fan, like top 3 USA distance runenrs, but sadly my most vivid memories of him are 1) epic fist pumps at olympic final 2) falling in the steeple and 3) fading terribly in this race
i love that he went for it, probably thought he had more in the tank

I don't think Jager fading in THIS race is that big of a deal. He's been running well, coming off an epic Olympic silver, stepped up in distance and went for it. Yeah, I would have liked him to finish strong. But, what I'll remember about THIS race is the "going for it" part, not the fade.
USA ladies DQ'd in the 4x100. Another stellar coaching job by Dennis Mitchell. Now can he be fired? Now?

rowbury not even breathing and throwing windmills through the tape
Clearly a sign of PED use.
For those (like myself) that are unable to watch various live stream options for whatever reason, there is a youtube channel that is putting up all of the races pretty quickly after the fact.

Sounds like the eurosport commentary.

Rowbury pushed off Muir. There is no doubt about it. If you watch the video, you see Rowbury's right arm swing right, Muir suddenly decelerates and Rowbury suddenly accelerates across the line.
There was no "pushing off." If you watch the front angle video, Rowbury had to squeeze her upper body past Muir's, then once ahead, threw her arms up at the tape. There was no "sudden" deceleration or acceleration, this all happened in the last two strides of the race. Even Usain Bolt can't do that.

If you watch the side you, it sure seems clear that Rowbury is clear ahead of Muir before the finish.
From the front shot, it seems Rowbury drifted towards Muir at the very end, but it's hard to tell how close they actually were.

Ryan Hill gets to have it own point. You don't make it up for him or anyone else.
I'm so tired of all you guys trying to dictate how other people should race. If you want to dictate a race, then lace them up. Oh, your too freaking old. You had your chance. Let others run the way they want to run.
Your post gets a F.
Did u notice that none of the other women seemed happy that Rowbury won? Very different than when Jenny or Muir does well.

80% of runners are either scared to death or don't have the coordination to do the steeple.
not at all. I believe jager is our best 5000m runner and our 2nd best 1500m runner (in addition to obviously being the best steepler).
LOLOLOLOL. 2nd best 1500m runner? Wow.

No. Must be a figment of your imagination
Rowbury must be a doper because she was happy and excited when she won and the other competitors were mad that she defeated them.
If you are clean, then you must look like absolute crap across the line and all your competitors must be happy that you defeated them.
Ideally, to prove you are clean, you should not even win or run fast. You should finish in fifth with a mediocre time but nevertheless have run so hard that you have to be carried off the track. That is a true, clean champion.

who would you put ahead of him besides centro? You can make a case for andrews, and in a championship style setup he would probably have the edge. In a DL style race though I am taking jager.
Just saw the video... it really does look like Rowbury kind of elbowed/impeded Muir.
if so, she deserves a DQ.

Manzano? He's definitely past his prime, and Jager ran a much faster 1500 last year. But this year, Manzano's been faster.
It'd be an interesting race to watch.
I'm surprised no one's mentioned the kid. That's be fun to see as well.
There is zero chance i would take manzano over jager at this point.

Sooooo, you're saying that Hill gets an A in executing his "run slow enough to go home devastated" strategy?
Look Ryan, it's been a long season, don't tarnish it by getting into a pissing match on the LRC message board.

Rowbury did go over to block Muir at the finish but not clearly before it, so no dq.
Rowbury's block was prior the finish, and definitely a DQ.

Don't cherry pick the race type. If you want to find out who the best is, you do the whole shebang - Olympic trials style!
If we are talking about CURRENT fitness:
Definitely 1000000% would beat him:
Centro
Murphy
Andrews
Blankenship
Probably:
Manzano
Merber
Engels
Add Rupp if we give the guys a few months to train for it
