What do you expect? A star during the free-for-all 80s, when - at the height of the Cold War - the East tried to out-dope the West and vice versa...

I fully expect Moorcroft doped. GBR Dr. Jimmy Ledingham is on record saying the British athletes under his care were doping. Allan Wells has been accused by other runners and well as the media, and Ledingham. It is a near certainty that Moorcroft's WR 13:00.41 was run as he was "doped to the gills".

Would you expand on this staple workout, please? Thanks in advance.
Find it strange that Moorcroft only came 3rd at euros that year. Poor tactics?

I can help. He did km repeats at sub 2:30 pace with six minutes of rest.

Walker ran his best ever mile at age 32 that year.
Nothing to see here.
His 1978 wasn't too shabby.
Winter down under
Commonwealth Champ
3rd in Euro Champs behind Ovett & Coghlan
He ran a 1:46.6 800 in 1982; was that his fastest?

Completely misquoted. Dr Ledingham said that he gave some drugs to a handful of sprinters in his care, most of who were Scottish.
There is absolutely no evidence to suggest Moorcroft was doping. He had a long, successful career that was hampered a lot by injury. 13:00 is not that special these days, and he was a lot more talented than many of the other runners around that 13 min barrier.

Yes, all his PBs were set in 1982

Euros 5000m
https://youtu.be/3FkDvyP-shEThis is ultimately pointless as unless there is data released from frozen historic samples then we will never know for sure if Moorcroft doped.
