Another amazing Centro workout!!!!

Considering that Salazar told Masback of NBC that Centro's last workout IN RIO included Centro's Fastest 400 Ever at 49.point as the final 400...of said workout.

We'd be wondering where your info comes from...or if you're a victim of "Telephone," considering Masback is a top exec at Nike and has close access to Salazar...

I believe Masback reported that it was 7@51 (not 8@51) followed by a final 400m at 49.7, Centro's fastest ever 400m. Masback did not specify the rest nor the location. So:

7x400m@51;

1x400m@49.7.

I'm trying to CONFIRM that I've correctly written what Masback said, but I cannot get the link below to NBC's broadcast to run:

This was passed to me by an OTC member, so take that for what it's worth. I'm sure the telephone game could certainly be applicable in any situation.

You may be mistaken. I know that the announcers during the 10k said that Rupp recently ran his fastest 400 ever, breaking 50. But there was another incident where this exact same thing was said about Centro?

All I know is that I personally saw Centro and Rupp running repeats in Provo at the BYU a couple weeks prior to RIO. They ran 2:00, 2:04, 2:05, 2:05, 2:04. Running into them.

I suspect they were told to run 2:00 and realized after the first that it wasn't going to happen. That's exactly what I saw and that's the shape they were in.

Was Eyestone watching the workout?

He is the OLYMPIC CHAMPION, so sounds very legit.

A generous 2 mins, sometimes closer to 3.

There is nothing remarkable about 5x800 @ 3k pace. Runners all over the world at pretty much every level ability are doing the same workout at any given week during the season. Pretty standard--no secrets, no tricks.

And actually, except for the first, those are at Rupp's 5k PR pace. Oooo 800s at 5k pace, crazy!

Not that hard to go sub 50 in a work out. A lot of guys could do it with proper training

51/lap is faster than Centro's 800 pace. Solidly so.

4-5x400 at 800 pace with 4:00 or even 5:00 rest is very hard.

Centro can't do eight of them at faster than his 800 pace.

Also, these fashionable "tag" 400s are so pointless.

ummmm...that workout was at altitude. get your facts straight before your make silly and sarcastic comments. it just makes you look needlessly dumb.
