Bolt obviously wins 400 and kipchoge obviously wins mile. I'd go with 700m

600 Kipchoge still wins.
10/10

+1 (disagree about 600m, although I think Bolt would have to train for it, but I think with training Bolt wins convincingly.)

i'd say 700m is close I would say 698m
At their peak speed years it would be about 575 meters.
This conversation already took place between Bolt and Bekele and it's not much different today.
560 meters right now.
545 meters when Eliud was a 5000 man.
What a pointless and ridiculous thread. There must be something more meaningful to discuss.[quote]rgh6e wrote:

Does Kipchoge not get to train too?
Probably 600m. I think Bolt would fatigue rapidly after 400m due to his physique and would find the slow pace very awkward. Top 800m for example would most likely have him by 450m at least.

But Jon Orange says fast people use less energy so Kipchoge could never catch Bolt.
No Sh*t Choge wins an 600. You need a fast 600 to run a fast 800. Bolt does not have the endurance to last at 600 at his age

Hi crybaby! Why don't you start your thread?
Not pointless at all.
Bolt wins 400m Kipchoge wins 600m
Bolt wins 500m Kipchoge wins 550m
Best race is 525m
Splits
Kipchoge 38 + 27 + 3.4 = 1:08.4
Bolt is 38.2 + 26.9 + 3.3 = 1:08.4

I will never understand why people ask these questions about what distance will they be competive at.
stop. do less

"the kilometer! The distance of the Gods! The one and true test of man!"

Bolt 1:05 for 500m? The WR is 59.32, set by a Cuban who wasn't fast enough to compete in the individual Olympic 400m, only the 4x400. The American record is 1:00.06, held by a guy with PR's of 20.64 and 45.09. In other words, the most talented people don't bother with the event and still the WR is 10% faster than what you're predicting for Bolt.

I actually thought about making a thread on this a couple days ago, but just didn't haha
I would have to say 575m
200 meter butterfly
