This is how the interview went:
NBC: What do you think of Rupp?
Kipchoge: Rupp is a very good Runner, World !@$@% ... xxx @ record....!@#$ Rupp.
NBC: Rupp can break the world record?
Kipchoge: What????

Just chop off another 7 and 1/2 minutes and he's got it!
Rojo is so confident that Rupp will never get the world record. He backed up his comfidence with a ridiculous bet that have 100-1 odds. So if ten people took the bet and he won, rojo would win a measly $10k. If he lost he is down a million. Rojo is a clown. Maybe at 15-1 or 20-1, but 100-1 is just talking shit and being a hater. Talk that talk but cant walk that walk. And this is the site creator. Lol thats why this is so funny.
I'd actually like see Rupp take a shot at the half marathon WR first. He's got about the same track speed at Tadese, and he's clearly a better full marathoner. I doubt Rupp would quite get it, but pretty confident he could go sub-59.

Agreed, it would be exciting to see Rupp go for it in a rabbited HM. His 10,000 speed is great, and he just medalled in the marathon... HM might just be his perfect niche.
KIpchoge is a wrecking ball in the marathon... never seen a guy who has more thoroughly ground away all his weak spots.
Brave run by Lilesa, and even braver speech.
Rupp now has two olympic medals ... For 800 and up I can't think of anyone alive but Shorter who can also say that?

Tactical Champs marathons in hot weather. Rupp would good for sub206 in Berlin rn.

rojo i will take that bet for any amount you want.
ill even give you 30:1 odds.
The bet being that within the next 5 years Galen will run a faster marathon than 2:02:57.
Ok. Let's do $500. I'll pay you $15,000 if he does it on a legit course with record-eligible conditions..
I dont want Salazar driving behind him on a truck with wind machine blowing Rupp ahead.
I think you should paypal me the money now if you are interested. You've got my email. Even if I lose, it will be worth $15,000 as I'll get a million hits from people making fun of me.

rupp just won a medal and the first thing you can do is start talking about what he CAN'T do. this is some sort of weird inferiority complex showing itself. And if you don't want the bet at 100-1 odds, WHY DID YOU BRING IT UP??? You talk the talk but you can't walk the walk. At 100-1 I would put $1000 down that RUPP breaks the WR. Win or lose it's a good wager. You really are showing how stupid you are Rojo. I think the truth is you are jealous that Rupp accomplished something you tried to do but never could. Seriously, do see a therapist and figure out why you have some much hate.
The odds are certainly worse than 100 to 1 that he does it. I just am took risk averse to take those odds. You think Rupp is more than 3+ minutes better than any other white man in history? In the 10k, he's only 15 seconds better. 15 x 4 = 60. Even if we take the pre-solinsk record of say 27:15ish, then it's 30 x 4 = 2:00.
I'm a former math teacher who understands the sport.
How does it show an inferiority complex? I thought it was the ultimate compliment and started it to let people know how impressed the GOAT is by Kipchoge. But it's hyperbole. Everyone after the Trials said Rupp would run way faster. I was like, "In similar condiitions, he's going to have a real hard time running 10 seconds per mile faster (I used the analogy of 13:25 5k verus 12:55 5k). For the WR, he'll have to run close to 20 seconds faster than he did today.

By saying I don't think RUpp will be the marathon Wr i'm talking shit? No I'm just stating the truth.

Bet your half of this website.
I have the resources to pay it out over time. I'm just risk averse. It's the same reason why we all buy insurance.
It's not worth losing potentially $100,000 to win $1,000 even if my expected value i s like $500.

Hence I've changed my mind, but I will do it at 30 for $500.
Ok I am going to need financial documents with proof of income or proof of wealth. If your numbers are high enough then I will give you the $500. Yes you don't need to do this, but I am fronting $500, so I think it is a reasonable request. Also, if I give the $500 now then the $15000 will have to be adjusted to a higher number to account for it future value in 5 years(inflation).
PS: I think you undervalue the positive impact of the NOP. They have a better system up there than Lance ever had. If he didn't the best sports pharmacologists in the world on his side I would probably agree with you.

The HM is about on par with XC in terms of running prestige, and below XC in terms of running fans thinking it's bad ass, so I wouldn't count on Sal and Rupp making too much of an effort. But I agree, seems logical to double the distance before quadrupling it. AR in both HM and marathon seem attainable, and sub-59 wouldn't be too surprising.

I agree with the poster\'s that the BROJO\'s have it out for Galen .... limited coverage, always quick to point out his limiting factors, never missing a chance to promote the Goucher/Magness \"Drug Cheat\" narrative, etc. We should be celebrating and anticipating Galen\'s \"next move\" versus this dialogue.
Rupp can beat the marathon WR with the right drugs. He's not going to do it just on thyroid, asthma meds and all the TUE stuff he takes.

OK, to be fair, this article did highlight Galen's accomplishments: give props where due...1

Rupp had nothing left and was destroyed when the pace went from 5 to 4:40. No way he's running 4:40 pace for 26 miles. The look on his pace and surviving those later miles I'd be surprised if he runs one again.
Rojo, I'll bet you $100 at 100:1 that Rupp will break the marathon WR in his career. Should I email?
