That photographer truck is one of the most interesting race vehicles I've seen
Kipchoge looks like he's still not trying, but just wanting to be in control. Rupp and both remaining Ethiopians there, Lelisa and Berhanu. I think both other Kenyans are there. No Kiprotich and no Ghebreslassie. Uganda has one there, a couple others hanging on.
NBC just said it's 94% humidity! At 72 degrees that's killer.
PEH "performance enhancing hats"
ward no longer shown on camera
meb is too far behind. stopped lots of times.

WHERE DID MEB GET THAT HAT FROM
Also, Galen has to be stoked about this pace. What would be a better scenario for him?
Just posted the same thing on twitter. Last night was great for Centro and this is almost perfect for Rupp.
If we said "we're going to make it an 8 mile race" who are you picking?. What about a 10k? Rupp's name goes to the top.
94% humidity and the misting stations are pumping away.
Announcers just said he dropped back

As someone who runs in a very warm climate, 94% humidity after a rain is the worst kind of weather to run in.

Lead pack of 8 (then others 4s back)
Ward is 17 seconds back.
Over the last mile rupp starting to look like he's working hard for the first time this race. Kipchoge still looks smooth and like he's on a training run.
I could be wrong, but Rupp could be in this at the end.

I can almost guarantee that all the NOP doping allegations are exactly like this hat switch. It goes to show how Kara Goucher and Salazar are probably both right. When Salazar keeps doing stuff like that, you can't blame an athlete for becoming skeptical. But in the end Salazar is probably right that it is all legal. I would bet that he vetted this equipment exchange with the powers that be in Olympic marathon officiating.
Salazar wanted her to wear a right hat, and she wasn't having any of it.
Rupp will get bronze. He is looking good.

Some guy said the conditions weren't good for a 208, I'd be stunned if the winning time wasn't at least that fast.
65:30 63 is certainly doable, right?
I was that some guy, and tho it's picked up a lot, a dew point of near 70 is no joke, humidity still in the 90's, be prepared to be stunned, as good as Kipchoge is....
this actually is a fairly strong pace, and Rupp is looking very good. I think he will medal.
Look to see someone try to string out the pack soon. Rupp could be the guy.
lead pack is CRUMBLING
very interesting to watch happen in slow-ish motion
12-14 guys down to 8 now
I chuckled at the commentators talking up Rupp's track "expertise" and "speed." DO YOU KNOW WHO KIPCHOGE IS??????
