Nah. The "fat" guy is from Ecuador. It's a yellow jersey like Uganda but with black/grey on the shoulders. And also he's huge.

International announcer just said it has been 40 years since America had finished on the podium. Poor Meb.
It's not going to happen but it would be cool if it was Rupp who put the hammer down.
NBC just said the USA had no medals since Shorter. Embarrassing.
I don't think it favors Rupp, I think a strong pace dropping most contenders would have been better for him.
Meb seems definitely out of it, he keeps dropping back.
Meb will finish...(I could be wtong..lol). Hopefully top 10 to 15. I think the rain, humidity and dewpoint will take its toll.
Brian Sell would of been perfect for this race....you there Brian?
Idiot commentator just said the US has not won an Olympic medal since Shorter in Munich. I guess he has never heard of Meb.
These commercials are killing me.

b.) The idea that they are "chilled" is pure speculation.
"Pure speculation" LOL, more like an obvious guess. Maybe they are heated up? Of course that are iced!
Ward has been dropped.

Also, Galen has to be stoked about this pace. What would be a better scenario for him?
Honest question ... does this really favor him where he will be able to haul ass for the last 10K or are we just holding on to hope that he will be able to? I can see the Africans just destroying him on a break but I really hope I'm wrong
In a world where we don't know how fast he can run a marathon, and he has done a lot of 10k training, this seems like the best case scenario. It could be the case he wouldn't be able to medal in any type of race, but given what we know, this seems ideal.

Yup. Pretty sad. Also women, but oh well. What's with Ward's Hello Kitty glasses?
A strong pace would drop Rupp too.

Any predictions on how fast the last 10k will be?
Ghebreselassie dropped.
