Soccer is king in the rest of the world. That's why nearly all stadiums have HJ and JT compromised like in Rio, so that the field event competitors need to use the running track. That sucks, and is why the officials fail to have the curb in place and are sloppy with the cones that are supposed to substitute for it. I even saw a piece of the curb removed for the men's PV in Rio!
That's also why the LJ, TJ, and sometimes even the PV are outside the oval. Did you see how far Row One is from Lane 8 at this stadium? Need binoculars all the dang time!
This is one of the many nice things about Hayward Field; it's specifically laid out for T&F, with no curb removal required to contest the JT and HJ.
