CANADAH!!!
1. Another Embarrassing 4x100 for the US
2. The US is likely to have more mdist-dist medals than sprints by 2024.
3. I wish USATF would address glaring issues with US sprinting
4. USATF will hide behind the fact this could be a 30+ medal Olympics
Whatever duuufusAnyway, we deserve a bit of luck with the disqualy in 2012.Good show for Canadian squad. The Japs really show what a well-oiled machine can do in a 4x100 with less pure speed among individuals.

We got our first medal since 1996 in sprinting. Enjoy the success, but we're not exactly a superpower. (I"m Canadian too).

Gotta be the last handoff.
Or the first handoff.
Rodgers to Gatlin was early. IAAF rule 170.7.
The baton shall be passed within the takeover zone. The passing of the baton commences when it is first touched by the receiving athlete and is completed the moment it is in the hand of only the receiving athlete. In relation to the takeover zone, it is only the position of the baton which is decisive. Passing of the baton outside the takeover zone shall result in disqualification.
Gatlin touched the baton, which initiates the pass, prior to entering the zone.

They said first exchange was too early. Replay seems to show the hand going back before the line but the baton in the hand at the line. I'm guessing the DQ doesn't stand after a protest.
So are we agreed that none of us knows exactly why the US was DQ'd?
SERIOUSLY.
SERIOUSLY.
WHO HAS DM SCRWED IN ORDER TO KEEP HIS JOB?

First handoff, exchange outside the zone.

Usain bolt springs home for Glory!
And the U.S.? yet another year some sketchy schizz in the 4x100 relay. And it gets swept under the rug.
I caught all the track action except this race. What was the reason of DQ ? r 170.7
Looks like its position in exchange zone and making movement before its allowed.

Some sprint leets should explain this further and provide some takeaways.
Shouldn't our 4x100 be a highlight for fans? I mean, contrast this with the hurdle sprints ladies, who have been doing a heckuva job, since back at the US trials!
I've never seen an exchange too early before.
Women won though...

It wasn't, it was late, after the yellow line.

Oops...got it backwards, it was too early.
Forget the DQ, there is a much bigger issue here ... we just lost to Japan in something that does not involve making sushi, doing math, building cars / subway systems, or gaming.
The order was retarded. We had our 100m silver medalist (who cares if he is clean or dirty) running 2nd and some kid who looks like he is 16 years old and on the JV sprints team anchoring against the greatest sprinter ever??? Who does that?

Yep. Mitchell earned himself employment through the 2017 WC's.
Most middle school coaches tell their runners to never hand off the baton if you approach too early.
