Would folks who are getting bent out of shape over this be similarly offended if Mo Farah's kids one day run for Britain? After all, they're growing up in the US, with British parents. And they probably talk like the kids around them at (pre)school.

If you are born somewhere and then live all your formative/adolescent years in the same country then you are from that country. Farah at least came to Britain for his teenage years and early 20s so he's fine.
These hurdlers being 'British' is ridiculous. Ofili has never lived in Britain while Porter lived here for a few years but moved when she was 20+ yrs old.
I'm in my mid-20s and I've never been to Poland but I could compete for them. That would be ridiculous.
I'm not offended it's just stupid. Pretty much the same as the East Africans and Jamaicans who go to Bahrain..
Agreed. Those hurdlers are American and so is Alexi Pappas. If they can bend the rules, whatever. But let's please not pretend they're actually British or Greek, you're not fooling anybody.
Greece and Peru were jealous of Britain's success in using Americans. Farah hasn't lived in the UK in years.
The question wasn't about Farah. It was about his kids, who are growing up in Portland, OR. Would you see it as ridiculous for them to run for Britain in the future?
You can probably find my answer in what I wrote anyway. If they move back to Britain to grow up then yes. If they stay in the USA all their lives/til their mid-20s then of course not.
