"Why is this an issue of sportsmanship? Kemboi cut the course. He ran less than 3k. The problem isn't the French protesting. That is their right, just as it was the Americans right to protest Mead falling. The problem is Kemboi not being dqed immediately, instead of only after the protest. It doesn't matter how far into the race the infraction was or whether it affected the medals. If it did, then the rule would not be applied fairly in all circumstances. If this happened in an opening heat or with a non-contending runner, would you be complaining about sportsmanship if that runner were dqed for doing the same thing?"

You're Wrong Dude!
One foot being four inches over does not constitute running less than 3k - He didn't jump to the inside of the track, race around the cones, then pop back in. This is annal hair splitting at its worst! Look closely at the photo. Does that look intensional to you? Is that some kind of blatant flagrant selfish cut?
Horse$hit!
This guy has done nothing. How many times has that happened in the Olympics - 100's ? Should we then take back Millers "Win" in the Women's 400m due to the fact that she technically did not 'fully physically complete' the entire distance with her body laying across the line on the ground still after Felix's 'whole body crossed' and she completed the entire 400m distance before Miller did?
This is petty childish nit-picking trash! The French who filed the protest are simply pathetic and show their un-sportsmen-like conduct!
'Pierre de Coubertin' is ashamed and rolling over in his grave!
