Faling at the line is perfectly legal.
Time to change the rules then.

Yep. Simpson silver, Rowbury bronze. Hysterical day for the US!!!
fixed.
What was up with Hasan? She clearly has some injury. Like like a horse galloping, noticed it in the semi too.

I don't disagree, but other things to consider include the rolling start off of an incredibly slow beginning to this race.
Big difference. Dibaba did it en route to a WR. Simpson did it off a jog. Not even a jog, more like a shuffle.

I want to see Ayana destroy the 5000m WR and later on destroy Dibaba over 1500m. In a DL event.

Jenny Simpson is a dirty runner, a liar, and a dirty drug cheat.
She didn't even congratulate Faith Kipyegon on her outstanding victory.
This was a great race, except that Ugly Jenny Simpson stole the bronze.

not a chance. Rowbury is gonna want it even more now. it just got real.

Should put to bed the debate over Jenny vs Shannon
Don't understand how everyone seems to be doping but the Americans. Murphy .4 behind Mahkdaddy who everyone thinks is doping. Possible he is just .4 better? .4 more talented, .4 able to train harder? .4 more suited for running?? Same goes to this. Americans are what 1 second behind Kipyegon in an 800 sprint where they spotted her .3 to begin with? Anyone consider the fact that Kipyegon was born at altitude and has lived and trained at altitude as well as having a better body type and genetic structure just allows her to be .7-1.0 faster on the day with almost identical training effort and concern??

I think it got real back when Simpson said they hadn't gone back and forth in wins over the years (during an interview.)
It's been on for a while.

That was funny. Jenny obviously has thought about it quite a bit. She speaks the truth though. It must eat her up inside that she doesn't have the American record.

I think that alot of the other countries dont take it as seriously as the Americans. Watching the Marathon and how undisciplined the African runners were on the tangents and pacing and the hydration made think they really weren't paying attention to the little things that cumilatively add up.
In this race Jenny and Shannon seemed to know what was going on and how the race was setting up while the Africans were making it up as it went along.

People will lay off the drug talk when we hear an explanation of the EPO drug bust where Aden was arrested with an athlete of his in possession of a lot of EPO. The arrest was after a sting that was initiated because he was seen dropping syringes in waste baskets around town. Dibaba and her sisters were with many Aden athletes at the hotel when Aden was arrested and his athlete was found with many preloaded injections of EPO in his room.
Discussion of times alone is not dispositive one way or the other. Plus, I would expect lots of people to run near their 800 or with a running start after running 700 at 10k pace.
You don't have to talk about drugs in this race, because the race was won in 4:08 with silver and gold running 4:10. Everyone in the field could have run that fast. Dibaba just paced herself like an idiot and Simpson paced herself better. Maybe Dibaba is doping, but doping isn't helping you much if you run a stupidly paced 4:10 race. Dibaba looked almost like Alan Webb sprinting in the middle of the 1500 at the 2005 World Championships.
So basically you're saying that the Americans are diligent tools who pay too much attention to all of the logistic and strategic details and have higher racing IQs than the East Africans, while the East Africans have more athletic talent and can afford to run wide around the turns, surge too early, pace poorly and neglect hydration.... and still win.

You seem like just a really bad person, man. Like, legitimately bad. Best to figure out why you're so unhappy. I can only guess how it affects your personal life.
Dibaba had the arrogance to think she could run away from the field from 800 out off of that slow first 7-800. Even without the drug stuff, I'm happy to see someone that sure of their dominance get destroyed.
Can't wait for Rowbury and Simpson to get upgraded medals, just a side note.
That was total crap! Dibaba purposely threw that race because of the pressure of Drug Investigations on her coach and team! They threatened her to back off and loose intensionally! Ridiculous race - stupid slow time and well beneath her competition. Simpson is capable of a 3:56 as well. ALL POLITICAL!

Hmmm, I think you should look up the word "arrogance" in the dictionary. Arrogance would be sitting at the back until like the final lap and then kicking to the front thinking the race was yours... She went at 800 because she DIDN'T think she could sprint away from the field. It was a tactic in a race, not an arrogant gesture-- besides, it obviously didn't work like it did last year in Beijing... Her legs were jello that final 150.

She tied up so bad there. My thought exactly...under a lot of scrutiny. When has Dibaba folded up like that before? I can't think of one.
When Dibaba knows she is losing, she loses the will to fight completely. Its like her whole world is falling apart.
