All athletes need to do this.....
All athletes need to do this.....
Excellent
It's been done for years, and skiiers have their skis with logos next to them every minute they aren't on the slope. Agree all non-nike folks should follow suit (WVN gets a bye as he was pretty stunned).
Nothing new.....Bolt did same thing last night taking off his Pumas for all to see.
Nike only bought Team USA, not team Jamaica.
Bolt wears a Puma shirt too
Puma is the Jamaican sponsor.
Smart move, Emma Coburn.
This makes Nick Symmonds look not so smart. He couldn't come up with a creative way to include his sponsor last year and so skipped WC.
I can't believe they're telling them what underwear to wear.
I just clicked to see if it was some kind of skirt-pun. But it wasnt.

I'm guessing we can credit that rule to Brandi Chastain
We had the same conversation in 1976 when Viren waved his ASICS on the victory lap.

This isn't true. Undergarment is classified as "Specialized Equipment" by the USOC, meaning it can impact performance. The athletes have the rights to wear whatever they want that's classified as such. Here's the list:

Shoes/Spikes Gloves
Undergarment (support) Vaulting Pole
Joint and abdominal support/weight belt Watch
Sunglasses Throwing implements
Hope she gets fined. Rules are rules.
What are the spikes she wore? They don't look like anything from NB that's currently available. I like the bit of cushioning on the heel.

If she has a problem with them, she should try to negotiate a change in rules. Not break them. Bad example for kids and, on the biggest stage, makes a mockery of the law-abiding and democratic spirit of America. Maybe she should represent some country where breaking the rules is normal.
But didn't I read that the women have to wear a Nike sports bra?
I think that's an area where a woman would want to wear what she feels comfortable in.
Not breaking any rules, just playing in the grey area. Sound familiar?
WVN took off his spikes and held them up for his WR picture.
Rule 40 is a USATF thing and has nothing to do with Bolt or WVN. Morons.
