I would have guessed at least 2 others would have beat that time. I think its time to either hang up the spikes or run the 400 unless he wants to lose (other than van niekerk).

less dope than before? Is this the slowest field in ages???
So Bolt wins the olympics, and you tell him to hang up the spikes or else he'll lose. I don't think you'll make much money as a sports agent, my friend.
It was a tactical race. Sit and kick until the last 10 meters.
Wind was a factor
Lol true though
The semi takes a bit out of you when you're as old as Gatlin
He'll be 33-34 for the next Olympics right? Gatlin is 34 and is nearly the best in the world (better than all but Bolt), no reason Usain can't go for four in a row if he feels like putting the work in.
I expect him to "retire" and then unretire near 2020. It's not like he needs a 4-year training cycle to compete in 2020.
Because everyone else ran slower.
Bolts 31st birthday is tomorrow. He'll essentially be 35 at the next olympics. I always thought he'd retire after these games or the next WC, was satisfied with legacy of 3 Olympiads.
I'd be interested to see everyone's reaction time. It seemed like they shot the start gun quickly after the 'set'.... ?
only 90 min between semi-final and final. Multiple athletes said they felt the effects of a short turn around.

He won the Gold and is the GOAT. What race were you watching friend?

Exactly. Dude's 34 years old. Didn't have the finish, but he had an awesome start. Just didn't have any fuel left at the end. Wish they would've run the final on a separate day. Gatlin would've had a chance to run a 9.7x.
Blake recently had hamstring surgery, otherwise he would have been in the mix of a medal.
LMAO LOVED THIS but seriously. Sorry I don't have commas. On my phone right now. Anyways I'm Canadian so I'm biased on de grasse. But in 2020 if bolt runs again no way the American Wil race again so degrasse or bolt SHOULD get silver and gold. And because of bolts age it will be a close race. With de grasse being close to his prime and bolt being old I would have to give this ine to degrasse. And on the how did bolt win. Because his time was lower than everyone elses. And he is a beast. And the American tripped up

29 and 30 this week so 34 in 2020.
Doubt he'll run 100 in 4 years but may do relays? Although that's doubtful.
What I'd like to see is a have all the hobby joggers throw in a few dollars into a huge pot for a sub 5 minute mile challenge. It'd be worth a couple $ Million.
I think the way shorter time between semi and final had a big impact. Only 85 minutes, whereas standard is 120-150 in previous championships. Think everyone looked kinda flat, and only one PB and even that was fraudulent cuz De Grasse's wind aided run at NCAAs was better.

9/10. That was pretty good.

Is this a trick question, or do you actually not know that they are always posted on IAAF website?
https://www.iaaf.org/competitions/olympic-games/the-xxxi-olympic-games-5771/results/men/100-metres/final/result#resultheaderAlso, the sets have been very brief this year - which is good! Quicker guns result in quicker reaction times and fewer false starts.
