Curious, because, the supposedly "clean" athletes are BEATING the dirty athletes.
Mack Horton beat Sun Yang
Lilly King beat Yefimova
In the 4x100, Americans and other teams beat teams with dopers like Russia (with Morozov) and China (Ning Zetao, Yang)
Bolt beat Gatlin last year.
So, if the conclusion is "dirty athletes are slower than clean athletes, even with all the banned stuff in their bodies". Why they're doping?
Katinka Hosszú's case is similar to Mo Farah's case. Off the world radar before 2013/2015 (0 -zero- Olympic medals in 04'-08'-12')...changed her coach, and then...boom. Unbeatable, with an unbelievable range.
I'm not buying that.
Just a reminder about the coach.
The only hope for clean sport is the athletes. The politics amongst the IOC and national federations are so disgusting that you cannot expect much more than a continuation of the status quo. But if the athletes revolt and start calling out dopers at every press conference and make it known that they do not want to share the stage with dopers, the IOC and national federations will be embarrassed into taking stronger action to keep from losing sponsors who will grow tired of athletes spending so much time talking about doping. Doping is a big turn off for the casual fan and threatens ratings and sponsorship profits.

King needs to stick to her own sport. These athletes have served their ban. She doesn't set the rules so her opinion is irrelevant. I highly doubt there will ever be lifetime ban for first offense. She is probably just desperately trying to land sponsors anyways. The life of a swimmer is harsh sometimes. She comes off as narcissistic, rude and disrespectful in her etiquette.
Convicted dopers should be banned for life. Otherwise the sport becomes a joke like cycling. Does anybody take cycling seriously?

We can assume that athletes who have been caught cheating and have stopped using drugs will get slower, which will make it easier for clean athletes to beat them. That may be what's going on here.

Caring about your nation's reputation as a supporter of clean athletics is a display of pride if you ask me. If you really want to make the U.S. look good, win the right way.
And FWIW I'll cheer for the Americans by default in any given event... but you can bet I root for Bolt to take down Gatlin every damn time.

In professional sports there is only dopers who have been caught, and dopers who haven't been caught. A good telltale sign of dopers who get away are the ones who are accusing others of doping, trying to divert attention.
On the other hand, why are American and Australian swimmers such jerks?
Swimmer girl is totally out of place here. Take care of your own business and just keep winning......no "whining". Let your actions speak for themselves. Anyone who is outrageously vocal about others is usually trying to hide and cover something themselves........at least that's how it comes across to common and educated people. Go USA!!!!!
He should have been banned a long time ago, and the same for Phelps.

Yeah it's weird when someone goes to great lengths to berate or bring down someone else or others. It's as if they have some kind of void or insecurity in their own life that they're trying to fill. Maybe theyre desperate for attention because they didn't get any as a kid. Remember Paula's EPO cheats out campaign?

If I doped, I couldn't beat Bolt (or the kid down the street).
Doping != Winning

Studies on EPO have shown that a clean athlete cannot beat a dirty one.

LOL
The IOC is very uncomfortable about what the swimmers are doing.
The swimmers have a history of calling this problem out.
Remember when the Chinese came out (all drugged up). The swimmers got them out of the circuit really fast.
Phelps called the drug gets out, King is the most vocal, but others are speaking out too. Good for them...
The athletes all sign a code of conduct to be in the Olympics and attacking you competitors and teammates is cause for dismissal from the games. The IOC and sports organizations determine who gets to compete, not the athletes.
The solution is to remove any whiny athlete who uses the Olympics as a forum for anything; drugs, Rum Gum, religion, etc. If they athletes cannot honor the code the signed and agreed to they do not belong in the Games.
Those athletes can spew whatever they like after the Games are over.

Most important part of the article:
So can you win clean? As much as I’d like to think so, when you have this situation where a guy finishing in the top 10 is using drugs and being beaten by minutes on a mountain climb, I find it difficult to believe that physiologically, the margins can be that large. I believe that the NATURAL, physiological difference between riders is tiny – maybe 1% separates a champion from tenth place. So take a drug that improves performance by, let’s be conservative and say 5%, and that mid-packer still can’t win the race, then you have to wonder about the guy who is winning…?

You folks ragging on Lilly King for speaking out are part of the problem. She's entirely correct. All the drug cheats need to leave the sport. Go flunk a drug test in the real world and see what happens to your job.
She needs to be pulled from the games. You would cry and complain if a Muslim athlete complained to the press about abuse from American Storm Troopers. That is why the IOC is telling them to stop. It will soon get out of had due to two swimmers who have obvious mental issues -- King and the Aussie fool.

The doping tests are a sham. The real cheaters are the ones like Radcliffe, King, Phelps who are inside the system so they get by, but meanwhile are trashing their competition who are clean, and who are much better people with much better ethics and morals.
Sad that an athlete from another sport has the balls to say what none of the track and field athletes should be saying.
Big props to her! Our track & field athletes should be ashamed of themselves for not speaking out, especially with everything that has gone on the last two years.
Has King been tested for gender?
She looks more like a guy than Semenya.
Suck it up you puzzy.
If Efimova, Gatlin, Gay, or whomever doesn't like it, they can respond. They can fight their own battles.
King has the balls that others lack. She is young and has nothing to lose. At the end of the day, she has to live with herself, and be able to look herself in the mirror.
She embodies and exemplifies all that is best about youth: doing what is RIGHT, not necessarily doing what might be "smart".
She said her piece, it just happened to be on a tall platform--a platform that she EARNED, and that she was GIVEN by the media, considering they lobbed her the question and put cameras everywhere and produced a worldwide TV show.
She expressed how she feels, and for that she deserves respect for her candor. The actual decisions are left to others with maybe more experience, more judgment, more sophistication, more nuance (like me). But her perspective is important because she is of a population that is singularly significantly served by the policies we have in place.
Good for her, to make her feelings known. We need more like her, from all parts of the spectrum, to engage a real debate.
