My mates say it's ~60 second handicap... I'm thinking more like 90 secs.
What do you blokes think?

None. Your only handicap is mental.
Do you know what a "C-ring" is?
For the mile? In spikes I would say a good 14:30.

Likely low-14s in spikes equivalent.
If you were wearing heavy trainers there is potential to run 13:5X. Depending on how acclimated you are to running barefoot, you could very possibly go high 13:3X unshod.
If you can get a hold of it, the Nike aero-tape worn by Rupp and others should bring you down to the 13:1X range.
Some dude once ran 13:55 in trainers...
Don't listen to these people saying you can run low 14s or mid 13s. Trainers don't make as much of a difference as you think, the main reason for them is to keep your racing shoes in good shape, not to let you go faster with racers once you drop the heavy shoes. You will improve by 20-30 seconds at the most with racers

Honestly, 15:20 is close to the non-Rexing WR for races done on trainers. So, it's probably worth low 13s.
so much bs to read it hurts...in spikes thats around 15:00

Yes, but it would've been way faster if he hadn't stopped to teach a grizzly bear how to play the cello.
Probably a wold record

Exactly correct.
There is a very large increase in leg speed velocity from an increase in "ankle and foot economical neuromuscular movement patterns", which then leads to an increase in running efficiency/economy…or this might be egregious drivel.

Dude its like 30 seconds tops. A minute is a bit much and a full minute and a half is a little ridiculous. Unless you ran it on the roads in crazy heat or on a pretty hilly course AND in super heavy trainers then maybe, but otherwise subtract 15-30 seconds.
I've seen this before.
Bolt did this then ran 9.58.
So you should be in Rio, dude.
You'll find out when you race in spikes. I understand the curiosity, but you're going to get (already got) guesses all over the place (including a lot far too optimistic), and it doesn't matter. Race in spikes already.

Agree. And that might be generous. I'm thinking closer to 1 second per lap. So 15:08ish
The extra friction of spikes doesn't really matter at that pace. But if the trainers were significantly heavier (say 2 oz) then maybe 15 seconds faster.

That guy was an absolute animal though. The name Rexing is said only in hushed tones by original members of this board. The man is truly revered.
You young ones wouldn't understand.
Can't believe nobody said this yet. It is 1 sec per mile per ounce of weight in the shoe. If the spikes are 4 oz lighter, it would be about 12-13 sec difference.

Has the OP faxed a thesis to the Dali Lama on how to obtain world peace?
I thought not.
