Agreed. I'm surprised they didn't sacrifice a goat!

Better than London. Not quite a good as Bejing. All three far ahead of Atlanta's disaster.
I Agree. I enjoyed the opening ceremony. Not overdone. Not too long. Fitting.
The olympics are not supposed to be used as a platform for airing political grievances or spreading propaganda. China didn't do it, but London had their ridiculous celebration of national health care, and now it's gone full throttle propaganda-shoved-down-throats mode with slavery and global warming. I wish the IOC would step in and put an end to this. The olympics will not survive if they are used as a political tool.

Fool confirmed
London was fun, Rowan Atkinson appearing was better than anything last night. My kids were bored, I was underwhelmed, Gisele on the catwalk saved it.

Not too long? I DVR'd it and it stopped after the speech. Didn't get the lighting or anything!

Agreed. Enough with the SJW nonsense. Rio should have focused on cleaning up the shit in the bay for the triathletes.

Why one or the other? I agree that they should have cleaned up the water, but I don't see what is so inappropriate about the country of the Amazon rainforest highlighting climate change or including slavery in a visual representation of their history. DG, they were telling the story of Brazil's recent history, how is it more appropriate to pretend slavery wasn't a part of that?

That mini-documentary was outstanding. Very deserving for Kip to win an award for all the amazing work he has done orphans. He and his wife have adopted 90+ kids.
