See I think it's fine if they are legitimately from countries which do not have much $ or sports development - it is a bit embarrassing/sad but I think enforcing standards would unfortunately eliminate whole countries who might want to play and that's even worse.
BUT Sarah Attar weirds me out because she is American with dual citizenship and was touted as a great Saudi success when she obviously didn't live there or really engage at all. She chose her own headscarf outfit and says she never wears that normally. I don't think it's a great step for Saudi women because none of them were actually allowed to play, and using an American is defusing criticism for that.
I can understand her doing it once to make a point/maybe she did inspire people/for fun and it was the 800m so she only held it up by less than a minute, she said that's why she entered the 800m which was an event she had never done in college. But why now return, for the marathon? That is weird.
