The last two years have been particularly break-out years for this kid. We're so used to the American collegiate machine having some hand in the development of runners like Butchart, but he's now ranked #2 for GB over 5000m with a 13:13.30 PR in May this year.

In this 2016 year, he dropped 25 seconds off his 3000m and 16 seconds off 5000m. Obviously not unheard of, but he's suddenly running fast times and consistently. What kind of prior testing would this guy have gone through given that he's coming out of a club program and only just started competing internationally?
