That was also something that I found odd. It was almost like running was what he did in his spare time. I just figured that we're dealing with an extremely talented individual that under the right circumstances can be a world class performer.
I know this is the "full log" but I think he's training a lot harder than it looks on paper. I wouldn't classify Nick as some kind of freak talent who doesn't need to train. Usually those types of runners would run much faster than 1:53 in high school.
