Wait... Grant Fisher is a year young? or Drew Hunter is a year old like Maton?
Drew Hunter turned 19 on May 9th according to his All-Athletics profile, so I guess he is a year behind in school. I didn't know that.
Neither. Cut-off date is typically August, so Hunter is on the older side of his class while Fisher was on the younger side.
If the child was not 5 by September 30 of the school year, he or she may not enter school. The code of Virginia (22.1-1) defines a person of school age as being 5 by September 30. If the child was 5 by September 30 of the school year, he or she may enter school.Apr 27, 2016
My birthday is September 12, so my parents chose to start me at age 4, and I turned 5 by the end of the month. Parents can choose to wait until the next year if they want, they just wouldn't be able to enroll a kid that turned 5 on October 1 until the next year.
With September birthdays you are almost always going to be the youngest or oldest kid in your class. I didn't turn 18 til freshman year of college. Didn't turn 21 until senior year. Last one to be able to vote, drink, etc. If I was in that situation, I would probably hold my kid back until the next year.
