Jamin is more entertaining, but Rojo is trying harder.
I think I'd say the opposite, but regardless, both are grade A specimens.

No no. What they need to do is over race until their career ends early and they don't perform at the highest level. You see. You arent several man unless you race like it's the Olympics for an all comers meet, leaf the whole thing, then get out kicked. In summary, Centro and Salazar know better than any poster here will.
The pros aren't over raced. They compete 2-3 times a year and rarely if ever max out in a race.
If you aren't intending to race and run to win don't line up.
I by find see Matt run 15 by 35 in 20 for 331 and world. Rio be future when now be present and disputed on tv

You're a boob
Totally. He's been a total curmudgeon on these boards for at least a decade. You will NEVER see a positive post by him. Even if he thinks something is good he has a negative spin, "he _should_ be able to do that."
I bet he has zero friends IRL.
Because we all know the most important thing in life is how many friends one has.

I wonder the relative quality of 800 metres race and the two 800 metres workouts? Centrowitz currently is the 19th fastest 1500 metres runner in the world. Can the eighteen men faster than Centrowitz this year do the same workout? Most likely, yes. All three 800s were roughly (2 1/2 to 3)% slower than his 800m PR. Don't we see high school kids anchoring DMR 1600m and racing 1600m, both around 2 1/2% slower than PR? How much different was Centro averaging about 1:48 for three 800s with plenty of recovery compared to someone doing 6 x 400s with one minute recovery, averaging 54/lap?
All this post race workout crap is getting really crazy. Maybe in the future the real attraction of meets will be the post race workouts. Meet promoters can sell you a special premium ticket that lets you stay in the stadium after the meet is over to watch the greats run interval repeats or whatever else their coaches deem worthwhile. Who knows one could even have records kept based on the time since your last interval. Perhaps we might even start seeing better times in the post workout than in the regular race. The NOPers could even bring in their water treadmills and altitude tents and even stay the weekend. What a spectacle it could be with a little imagination. Might even be just the thing we need for track and field.

So much hilarity on these boards. People claiming that Centro is obviously cheating because he's so fast, while simultaneously making the argument that he's not that good.
Hahaha this was pretty clever

the money
Believe me, ol pal Sal has PLENTY of Best Buy, Old Navy and Red Lobstah gift cards to dish out to The Merbs!
Why. Not run one fast 800 in the race?

And a 1:47.9...you know there were two 800's right after this race?? A 1:49 alone full recovery after a 1:47 race wouldn't have been much of a morale booster. It's finishing in 1:47.9 after a 1:47.1/1:49.3 that makes it a workout that suggests he's ready, whereas the race by itself was hohum.

This was track's version of the Steph Curry pre-game routine but it was post-game.
Remember when Saladbar & Rupp made a mockery of 5,000 meters at 2008 Olympic trials.
I actually like the idea of this up until the whole camping thing... Why not showcase some of the elites workouts? Isn't that what we are always asking for! Heck, flotrack gets tons of views when they highlight a team or group of elites doing a key workout.

Jesus.
Three pages and no mention that the last two 800's were run on PURE HATE.
Your welcome.

I didn't say that, pal. Just said he likely has zero, which I think would show some serious personality issues.

Yeah in the same sense Meb is. Nowhere near as fast as everyone else but has a lucky medal and some lucky marathon wins but Centro places 10th in his PR race.
Uh Championship races are about the Medal place not the PR. Willis is a lot like Centro, when the race is all out he is not as good but Championship kicking races he is near the best.
I look forward to Centro being on the stand maybe not the top but close for sure.

I know he's ready- See his convincing 3:34 Nat'l championships record & kicking stride-stride with Murphy last week. I knew he's a top miler & the workout was no surprise. You guys are the ones who didn't give him that respect.
