Yes if we want to have a runner who can mix it up in a physical competitive race, then her style of racing is what we need. Regarding the comments by others regarding BMart I think they are right. Looks like she is always running into trouble and tight spaces and any slight touch causes her to lose it. In Rio she better stay clear to stay on her feet.
There is nothing wrong with BMart running in packs.
Efraimson is another story, throwing bar fight elbows into the chest of the person on your right and pushing the person on your left off the track.

Apart from this certainly not being a "slight touch", there's some truth to what you write. A more aggressive BMart could have given Uceny a pat/push on the back to keep her from moving in. Instead she's being a nice girl and eventually gets pushed around. That's not going to get her a medal in a tight race.

I like BMart but watching her run 8 & 15 at trials you would have thought it was she that was inexperienced, not the 19 yr olds. She couldn't find a place or pace to settle into. She surged and bounced around outside lane 3 most of both events through heats and finals. I'm glad she's going to Rio but she needs to race better there than at the trials.
She does need to race better. She should not have let Uceny cut her off. That would have warded off this whole mess.
After watching this video many times, I would place blame on Morgan for sure and say that Efraimson was holding her position against BMart who was run into her.
Look at the feet down the whole straight away, Efraimson is running right on the outside of lane one with her foot running on the white line between lane one and two a couple times. BMart is running on the inside to middle of lane two with her feet not hitting the white line between lane one and two. Then when Morgan makes her pass on the outside of BMart, she rubs BMart on the pass causing BMart to move toward the inside of the track and her feet are now on the inside of lane two and running on the white line between lane one and two where Efraimson was running the whole straight away. BMart was run into Efraimson and Efraimson held her position just like any other runner should. Rubbing is racing and in big races like that holding your position is important.
Had BMart held her position and not let Morgan run her inside that whole situation would have not happen. In this case I just don't see how Efraimson is at fault.

I agree. I used the warped sense of "held her position" because the OP did.
As someone stated before in this thread, These women are going to face more aggressive runners once they get to the Olympics. The European races are much more physical than any race in here in the states.
I bet if this same situation happens in the Olympic final and any of the American men or women do what Efraimson did, to another runner to win a medal or get into position to win a medal, everyone on here who is bashing Efraimson for "holding her position" will be praising that runner.

You make no sense. In Rio, if anyone throws a blatant elbow into another runner's chest and as a result pushes yet another runner off the track, they will be DQd.
BMart is not the one runner who is involved in contact in her races. You even say the european races are much more physical. BMart's contact is just highlighted now since Montano tried to body slam her.

WHAT A CROCK-O-CRAP!!!!! She spazzed and push and hit people on either side of her! Way too over aggressive and protective of lane space. If they simply let this go, then there's nothing stopping other people from punching in the face their competitors to get ahead and then claiming - "Oh, they were inhibiting my progress!"

Right - it's just absurd to think they didn't DQ Alexa for that yet they somehow managed to find more contact from Gabe Grunewald at indoors a few years ago. If you showed 100 people both those races and asked which one resulted in a DQ 100 people would pick Alexa. Although maybe given she wasn't a factor in the end no protest was filed so they just didn't bother with it.
