Where I am it's really hot and I usually double the 16/32. I'm wondering if after a meet there would be a benifit to taking a nap (after eating of course). I've never tried it but I'm thinking maybe it'll help during XC and track.

It wouldn't hurt, but neither would you morph into an XC monster because of one nap after a meet.
Take a nap. I guarantee a 30 second PR next race.
