Give up your dreams, kid. You're too slow to be great. Here's what will happen:
You'll walk on to this program, and you'll be the slowest on the team. You'll bust arse to keep up with all the faster dudes on the team day after day, workout after workout, long run after long run. Your legs will cry out for mercy and rest, but you won't listen. You'll keep pushing em to the limit. Finally you'll break down (after 4 weeks of training with the team). You'll get a stress fracture, or knee pain, or some bullsh!t that'll sideline you. You'll try to rehab your arse off, but the pain won't go away. Everyday, when the rest of the team takes off on their 10-miler, you'll make the walk of shame to the rehab room and look like a total @sshole. You'll cry yourself to sleep every night because running is your identity, and you've lost it.
Do yourself a favor and just play ultimate and join a frat like the rest of the rumpleforeskin losers on campus.
