NJNY milers Johnny Gregorek, Kyle Merber and Colby Alexander swept Ireland's most prestigious mile today, all 3 crossing the line within tenths of each other in 3:55.
This, after a 1 thru 4 sweep (add in Hoka's Eric Avila) at the Padova Invite in Italy 5 days ago.

How many guys under 4?
-
Noticed none of them were in the Diamond League race today. How about getting in some real races or even qualifying for the Olympics/World Championships teams before bragging about how awesome they are.
-
It is incredibly difficult to gain entry in to a Diamond League race. INCREDIBLY HARD. You have no idea. It is also isn't a walk in the park to make a US Olympic or World Championship team.
That said, they all ran 3:55 miles and swept it (a prestigious mile event in Europe) in dominant fashion. Also, might I add, 5 days after doing something similar in Italy and having traveled across Europe.
That is impressive if you ask me. Even if you take the time out of it, which is fast in of itself, how often do you see training groups do this? It makes the sport fun for them and American fans.

Very well said. We need to start giving credit where credit is due. These guys deserve a "well done!". -

That was fun to watch! Well said. This makes running exciting for American fans because it helps us have "teams" to cheer for and have fun watching. Love the NYNJ guys!
Congrats on the race! -

Hey dweebus, 3:54 took 2nd in the DL mile today. And the top guys were not Americans. These guys from NJNY rocked it today. Brush up on the sport before you come back on the site. -
Actually 3:53 was second in the DL race but it doesn't matter. If these NJNY guys had been in that race, they'd have held their own. As an earlier poster put it, DL league meets are extremely difficult to get in . Especially for young guys just out of college like Alexander and Gregorek.

Thank God they got out of New Jersey, pit of the EAST.
-
That is awesome. Thousands of dollars to travel around the world to run against teammates. Makes sense.
-
1. Most of them don't pay for travel.
2. Get paid for placing in bigger races
3. Time bonus
4. Experience of a lifetime spent with friends
Get out of here ya bum

I agree with you. Same thing on the women's side of things. A domestic meet is definitely needed. Sponsors are throwing away dollars on this farce. -
those that disparage going to Europe to run the summer season don't understand why they do it. Just know that they all do. And always have. And always will until there is a summer season over here.
-
Wish we had a flipping summer season.

Completely clueless. Bravo. -
I think it's refreshing that a club like NJNY is making a name for themselves. They've actually been around for a few years and have been successful but the miler group is putting them on the map. I would expect these guys to keep getting better too.
Merber was injured much of early outdoor and Alexander and Gregorek are barely out of college. Add in the vet Palmer who has made a few USA 1500 finals and you have a great core miler group with a very bright future.
