The falling winner interfered and obstructed the 2nd place finisher, no?

The Aussie Ramsden is an enormous talent. He commanded the Australian titles, comfortably winning in the 15 and 5000m. His jostling style is just what he's used to because it's so prevalent across Australian middle distance running especially the juniors lately - kids here are taught to fight for their place and not to give up ground easily and take this advice too literally quite often. He's known for his kick too, so I presume he won't be too happy with his tactics - in hindsight he should've waited and kicked hard last 300. Anyway, a fascinating race and would've loved Jakob ingebridsten sneaking into a top 5 finish, however he's got years to come at this level.

I want to kick that Ramsden kid from Australia in the skull. Pushing people all around. Glad his surge did not work out.
Agreed, the Australian was nothing but a wrecking ball cutting across lanes, pushing runners several times throughout the race.
As for the continual age cheating from African countries... The IAAF is to blame given it has turned a blind eye to the obvious for far too long. New leadership at the IAAF has its hands full at the moment. It would be refreshing to hear from the sport governing body, when they can get around to it, that they acknowledge the presence of age cheating and will do something about AGE CHEATING FROM AFRICAN COUNTRIES/any countries competing in IAAF sanctioned youth/junior world championships.
"just barley won gold."
He should have hopped across. Then he could have celebrated his gold with a beer!
Do the world's best only learn that the guy who wins the race is supposed to look absolutely refreshed at the end of the race after 20?
Man, I thought the US women raced pretty clumsily ... but this race was a sh*t show.

I call it a DQ.
And this is why you're on the letsrun forum
The Aussie was too hyped up, he panicked at every move made. He looked good though once he took the lead. Plenty of talent. Needs to learn to run in a pack. Probably never has before. Surprised he wasn't DQ.
rojo - that is true to an extent, but while Alan had a receding hairline back then, this guy has full blown male pattern baldness going on, not to mention his face/eyes have the look of age. Alan, for all his challenges in the follicle department, still looked like a kid.

It's commonly known Webb was an age-cheat.

The french guy in 4th or 5th is the actual champion. The cheaters ahead of him are over agers. Appalling that Kenya hasn't been banned from WJRs for age cheating.
Best hair of the group too.
The Australian had the worst hair.
This was one of the more fun races to watch that I have ever seen. The age difference between the Western runners, particularly the Spanish runner, Jordi Torrents and the Norwegian Ingebrigtsen, and the East African runners is palpable. No wonder the latter were able to kick like crazy at the end even after a 3rd lap in 55.
Well done australia for picking a kid who has clearly never raced before in his life, idiot, but very talented idiot.
Amazing that a billion people finally produced a runner taking a top 5 spot in distance events.
And yet...none of them fell. Women are just a little more unstable, mechanically and psychologically.

The winners left foot is still not over the line when the Ethiopian is a full 1 metre completely past the line. Of course the winners torso got to the line first, 1m ahead of the Ethiopian. Funny.

Yeah, what's their NR? 4:20?
If he had run through the line, he might have caught Mischler. Good to see an athlete out of India in a final.

The Ethiopian "junior" is like stage 5 male pattern baldness, wtf is the point of world juniors when a 25-year-old Ethiopian and a 15-year-old Norwegian are competing against one another?
Is it normal for so many Kenyan and Ethiopian Juniors to start balding so severely in their teens?
Anyone from either country care to comment?
It looked to me like wanted to be sure he won so he 1) crossed in front of his teammate, and 2) dove because he thought he might be passed by Tolosa (Eth) right before the line.
