Hey, 16 y/o guy who runs 800 in 2:02 with 54.9 400m speed and have realized speed is my biggest limiting factor. The 54.9 was without any type of speed training, so I think it can go down quite a bit with proper sprint training. I've started introducing speed training since 1 month ago, and I've learned most about it from these forums.
Im looking for some help with my schedule, want to remain/improve aerobic fitness and improve my speed and speed end, not so much accel work, more top end speed/speed end. My schedule right now would be:
M: Off
T: Special endurance (2x300m/1x320m etc)
W: Easy run 5 miles + core
Th: Speed+speed end (fly 30s+150m repeats)
F: Long run ~8 miles+ weights
S: Short speed endurance (3x3x60m etc)
Su: 800m spec.end; 4x400/2x600 etc + core
For the "hard sessions" I have started doing coordiantion as Warm-up (high knees, skips, karaeoke etc). I've introduced stretching after sessions and before. Any input is appreciated, as mentioned Im new to the whole world of speed training
