I set my 800 PR of 1:57 4 years ago back in highschool off of 30-40 mpw. Low milage and lots of intensity.
4x400 split 53.x
1600 PR of 4:26
5k XC 16:25
Now in college I tried increasing my mileage to 60 and got hurt. Dropped back to 50 and still got hurt. Many injuries ranging from small things requiring a week off to big needing to take 4 months off
I haven't had much success only running 2:01, 4:15 for 1500 and 28:15 for 8k.
At this point what gets me excited to run is getting fast at the 800.
Should I drop my milage back to what it was in highschool? Don't care if I don't do well in XC.
