Winner was 3:36.
Ouch.

Umm. Bump?
What was up with his meteoric rise and subsequent return to earth? I went from never hearing of the guy to thinking he was in 3:34 Shape (not sure I've ever seen a college kid run the type of race be did vs King Ches) in the blink of an eye and now he looks every bit the 3:44 runner that he currently is.
Anybody know his story?
He really cashed in on that one good season at Montana State
Maybe dropped supplemental training.
I think he said he left the Big Bear TC, wasn't a good fit, wasn't forthcoming about why, seemed like it wasn't a good experience for him...now back training in Montana with his old coach.
Looks a bit soft and out of shape IMO. Hope he can turn it around in the coming years.

Definitely a bit soft. Unfortunate for him that it's anot olympic year. He'll be back

He and Stephanie did not leave the program by choice.

He looks at least 10, maybe 15 pounds heavier.

And they are both in Big Bear still, even though BBTC let them go before they had signed leases. So whoever said he is in Montana is mistaken.
If you can't along with Carlos and his crew you've really got some issues to work through before you can be a successful pro runner.
Good for Soratos for cashing in a pro contract when he did, but you won't hear much from him IMO.
wow - what a waste of time & £££!

This. NCAAs versus Ches was unbelievable. I've never seen someone drop a 26 second 200 in the middle of the race like that. For that brief period he looked like he could be America's next great 1500. Then, just a month later, he was back to being a 4 flat type guy like nothing ever happened.

Yup, 100% agreed. Didnt he run 53 from 800-1200? I could be misremembering.
Regardless, that was an impressive run which came after his scary 3:55 at UW. I watched that race and told colleagues he'd run 3:35 to win NCAA outdoors.
But outdoors he was a different athlete.
Was he a pacemaker for the Italian runners?
So what happened to Cristian Sorotos and Stephanie Brown at Big Bear Track Club. I see that Brenda Martinez deleted the tweet that welcomed their addition to the club:

Yet they appear to be training in Big Bear still. That must be awkward. It's not a big place. They must surely cross paths often. Or do they have some sort of training arrangement still? Or is this because Brown runs for Nike and Nike's relationship with Big Bear is toxic?
