Anyone have a suggestion? Budget about $150. Just has to be accurate and give me mile splits and pace.

GPS watches aren't accurate, sorry.
Garmin Forerunner 220. Find one on Craigslist. Got a brand new one, with a heart monitor (which I don't use), for $190 on CL a year and a half ago. Love it!
I had a Timex easy trainer and I like the configuration of time/distance/pace. Do the Garmin FR 10/15 show all three at the same time?
Find a Garmin 220. Best pure running watch on the market; definitely superior to newer offerings like the 230 & 235.
Garmin Forerunner 10. GPS, so gives you pace, time, distance, and has a button that lights it up at night. It seems like it takes a bit to determine your pace, so if you're doing 55m sprints, it might not give accurate pace. Also gets a bit wonky in the woods and under cover of foliage, but it's a really solid, pretty cheap watch that gets the job done.
What is better the 220 or 620?
Also TomTom. Anyone have any thoughts?

Why? I don't think this is true.

620. 220 is mid range segment, 620 is top end.

No. It only has 2 data fields per page. Read the DC Rainmaker reviews.
Any Garmin forerunner. More expensive ones will have more functions but they all work equally well at measuring distance and pace. If you want a higher end one, get an older model, as you will get pretty much the same quality and functionality as an equivalent new one but for far less money
spend a little more and try to find a current model of the mid range garmin mid range gps watches
i'm very happy with my 225
I like my Forerunner 10. It is simple and solid. It has seen lots of miles and all conditions.
The Garmin Forerunners are good. I had the 210 and liked it until the band rotted and the battery died. I have the 620 but the band rotted and I got tired of the touch screen. I have the 235 and an happy with it so far. I would have gotten the cheaper version but I really wanted the HRM.
What do you think of the TomTom watches?

Having gone through a Forerunner 201, 210, 220, and now using a 230, I can say that the 230 is definitely a meaningful upgrade over the 220, though the difference is much less than between the 220 and the 210/201 (ok the 201 is a real clunker compared to watches today). The best feature of the 220 and 230 that the older versions didn't have is the pre-loaded sat locations, which translates into much faster acquisition times and much less time waiting around on a cold raining morning, wondering when your watch will finally be ready to run. The 230 improves on the 220 by including access to the Russian GLONAS sat network, which gives it another few dozen (I believe...) satellites, which doesn't really make it acquire a signal faster, but it definitely holds one better and tracks more accurately around things like tall buildings (I live a big city and run often through downtown areas) and trees.
So FWIW I'd be happy with a 220 but would definitely prefer the 230 if the price difference is ok for you.
NOT a Garmin 220. In my experience it's wildly inaccurate. I run the same courses all the time and oftentimes it's off, e.g., by up to 1/4 mile on a loop that I know to be right around 3.2x miles. (It will read 3.4x or even 3.5 miles, and of course my pace is equally screwed.)
I've heard that the newer versions with GLONASS support are much better. Have also heard that the Epson Runsense is the most accurate GPS watch on the market.
I heard of something called the FitFit which you can use all day. The best thing in my view is it does not give you your pace. I like to think I am fast like I was in college!
Tom Tom Spark, vibrates at each mile and tells your time. Gives you your pace, and best of all has an Mp3 player built into it so you can listen to music without carrying your phone
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
