Why was USATF Women's Track & Field Chairman Sue Humphrey Suspended?

Sue said in the USATF Officials group that her side of the story would be told [at some point]

My understanding is that Sue had someone with her that USATF did not want credentialed. She went behind their back and got them credentialed through TrackTown, when USATF found out they freaked out and suspended Sue from all of USATF, just like the Youth Committee people.

The situation sounds complicated and I have a lot of concerns, on many levels, about how things were handled... but it's hard to judge either way when no one is talking.

I hope that Sue shares her side of the story sooner rather than later.

Yeah I've seen that before but there was no such area at the OT this year. Found it very odd. IMO, you shouldn't have been able to purchase the 8-Day package without already being a member. In other words, make the membership worth something.

Admittedly, I'm a member of the media so most of the time I'm in a media only zone but this year I did have the following observations and wondered if others shared them.

1) The crowds in the band area/fan zone were much less than before.

Am I just used to the band now and thought it was cool 4 or 8 years ago or where the crowds way down?

2) I've never understood why they don't offer more stuff for USATF members. I'd require for USATF.tv viewing. First day option to buy trials tickets, etc.

USATF upper management views membership purely as a revenue stream. No need to reward them. You want to run you join, we take you give it is simpler Why should the membership get the good seats when Max can make them a perk for sponsorship or big $ donors.

They used to, but in the last 3-4 years tangible benefits like Member Appreciation functions at the championships and a member magazine have gone by the wayside. Even a electronic magazine has not been issued in over 18 months.

When the CEO gets a $500K bonus for signing Nike to a 25 year extension, you think he is worried about trying to drive some extra revenue (and a better bonus for himself) by running a quality membership program?

Without looking it up, I am just going to guess that Sue Humphrey is white. The racism of USATF is astonishing.
