Texxas Jam late 70s
Love Parade Berlin early 90s
I'll not count the Greenwich Village joints bars and clubs with Baez, Dylan and that ilk .The first was most likely an Alan Freed R&R show in The Brooklyn Paramount but it could have been when Clay Cole took the series over. Most likely had Berry, Coasters, Drifters etc. anyway right around the Payola Scandal '58ish.
I think the first of what I though of as a 'big deal' concert saw Dylan at Carnegie Hall NYC Nov '61 A bit odd seeing a guy who I say play to 30 or 40 people in a GV club at the famed Carnegie Hall.
Most recent : I went to see Giada Valenti at The Madison Concert Hall Rockville Centre LI NY late 2012.
Devo 1983.
Bjork 2008.
First - Abominable putridity
Last - Carnal Disfigurement
First--a very much pieced together Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2004.
Last (hopefully not last ever)--wheezer in June 2016

And I'm taking my 16 year old son, who is somehow a huge fan of 40's music, to a "big band" show next week.
