somehow I thought rupp won
I didn't see him get swallowed up
Rupp was 9th. Completely cratered.
Jenkins screwed by the Army.
52.8 last lap.
4:00.87 last 1600m for Lagat
Which African is the fastest American on the US Olympic team? Somalian Mead, or one of the Kenyans? Do we have any Ethiopians on the US team?
Rupp is clean confirmed
Jenkins top American-born 5k runner
DADDY CAN STILL KICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing to think that Lagat and el G are the same age yet el G retired TWELVE years ago.

Bingo.
Shedding zero tears for them.
Why did they deserve that? Lagat the EPO cheat has stolen how many titles now?
Rupp disappeared like a fart in a wind.

Way to guys, you all just lost to a Masters runner. That's what happens when you leave it to a kick.
😂
That's gold, Jerry. Gold.
True and Hill just happy to follow. That's no way to get to the Olympics, guys...

Is that a joke?
By far, he is.
Lagat has a great kick. If Rio goes slow, watch out for him!
Toss-up between Meb and Lagat, I think. Lagat might get it, just because the marathon is more tolerant of age.
CT improves to 17.39. Not enough to catch Will Claye, who passed his last jump.
Chris Bernard joins them on the podium and the boat to Rio.
I'm glad there will be no pale face pansies in the 5K. They obv don't want it bad enough!! Race started in 15:20 pace!!!! NO EXCUSES!!!
Very entertaining race. Big shoutout goes to Shrader and Kincaid for trying to make something happen early in the race. Big shoutout to Rupp for giving it a go over the last 3-4 laps. And HUGE shoutout to Lagat, who is truly an ageless wonder at 41 years old. Incredible kick. Good finishes by Mead, Chelimo, and Jenkins. It sucks that one of them had to stay home.
As far as Hill and True are concerned, they raced pitifully. They are probably two of our three best 5K runners, but didn't do anything to keep the pace honest today. Tough beans.
Respect for the way Rupp won that race. He knew if he was going to have a chance, he couldn't let it come down to a kick. So he ran the only race he could, which was to push it from a mile out and hope he got enough distance. Obviously he wasn't strong enough, but good to see him put it all out there.
They'll be watching crappy coverage, just like the rest of us.

Anyone who wasn't top 3 has nothing to complain about. All huge pansies who jogged the first half.
So close for Jenkins.
- Agree ... I don't think any of these guys make the finals
- What the heck was Ryan Hill doing up in Park City this week?
