I think I am classified as a millennial (born 1988) and I have never received a participation trophy in my life, so I have no idea WTF you are talking about. The only time I've ever received something for not winning a race is these stupid road races I sign up for where, apparently, it is an accomplishment to finish any race over 15k. I'm also pretty sure it wasn't millennials who decided to start handing out finisher medals at marathons, half-marathons, etc. seeing as the majority of participants are older adults........

So we live in 2016. Everybody running today grew up with participation trophies and support socialist/commie ideals. That means that they don't work hard or take risks to be great. They run safe (read: scared and weak).
They have no balls, much like our current president. So what we will see is a bunch of weak minded, emasculated men jog a 2:10 800m split -- probably slower and finish in 3:48. NO ONE WILL MAKE THE A STANDARD WHO DOESN'T ALREADY HAVE IT. The pace will be a joke and the usual Centro, Manzano, etc. will take the win. You heard it here first.
