Totally especially because he off day miles were just so much slower before Salazar...I mean he was sometimes hitting 9min miles Lol

I agree! It sounds nuts to think that can help an elite runner, but anecdotally, I've always run best with high mileage and lots of slowish days. If I ran 100mpw at a 7:00/avg, I always did better than running 70 at 6:20 pace with tempos or whatever. Some people thrive on low mileage and intensity, others don't... Unfortunately, I doubt we will ever really know what Levins' deal is unless he leaves Salazar, does his old training, and finds his groove again. Otherwise, just too many variables.

The proof is in the pudding
It was brutal....
Levins got dropped by a 62 penultimate lap in a 14:00 race! That's bad! Really bad....
7th at nationals... He should finish 7th at Worlds and OG!
He definitely won't risk his overall health (not talking about injuries) by doing big mileage, and who cares if he risks fitness because he isn't ever going to be good again on low mileage.
Alberto/Nike wanted to add him to the stable - either to have another star, or a fodder for Rupp - either way Cam needed to stay with someone that would let him do his thing.
he's real classy about it

The slow high mileage[/] is what brought Levins to greatness.
Salazar nixed that progress, and it's been downhill for Levins ever since.
He needs to go back with his SUU coach Eric Houle to prosper again.
Yeah, that way when he trips over his dog and he detaches a hamstring from the bone, you can ridicule him like Solinsky.
He has had a chronic ankle injury for the past year. So he was flying high with the Canadian 10,000 record, then sometime after that he got hurt.
It happens all the time.
Before Nike, he was going to train with Speed River. Hahaha. Come on haters.
It's been sad to watch him go from Canada's best runner to a nobody.
It's time for him to leave OP along with a few others before it's too late.
If I were Cam's coach for a day I'd say cut your mileage and work on your speed. You look tired out there.
I realize so many coaches and you people here believe high mileage is the key. Alberto makes them pound out huge mileage and for most it just leads to injury.
I'm a believer in Jack Daniel's (not the booze you smart asses) theory of the running just enough to get the results you want.
Do you really believe that running 125+ miles per week will make you a better 800m or 1500m runner than the person who runs half that?
Show me scientific proof if you do.
Toronto Star:
" But not long after that he injured his ankle in a fall on this Foote Field track at last year’s national championships and hasn’t run well since."
He injured his ankle at the Canadian champs a year ago, and now it's chronic.
So what is the specific injury?
Does it require surgery?
How much money is he making with the reduction clauses kicking in?

Hey moran, it's a race caused injury. I know you are a high school troll, but it's still stupid.

He could have ran that in uni

He needs to prove fitness. Which he hasn't done. So I doubt AC takea him.
Sad to see how he got railroaded into going with Alberto by his sponsor instead of any of his previous coaches that knew how to handle him.
I am more inclined to believe it's his previous couches who did him in.

Speed River would have been so much better for him, but that is how Nike operates. Speed River is a new balance shop, and Alberta likely wanted Cam.
Check his stats for the past few years smartass. He's getting weaker and weaker with OP
Oh another year long race injury you say? Then why is he constantly running if he's injured?
I watched him at the Harry Jerome and he finished weak as well.
Jordan hasay does the same thing, stays with the group then fades in last portion.
When you see a trend you need to identify the cause.
