Bad news: very competitive field.
Sorry to interrupt the Montano bashing. Carry on.
Good news folks: Bmart IS entered in the 1500

Does she have enough time to get to Montanyo's house, shoot out the porch light, and get back for the heats?
-
Montano deserves the bashing. And that phony stagger to the finish to try and get sympathy and take attention away from her idiocy was disgusting.
-
Top three looks eminently feasible in that field. Good luck to her after essentially being robbed of a spot. I have little doubt that she was on the way to a victory.
-
The other good news is that she is clearly in fantastic shape. Agree she was headed towards victory.

An American team of Simpson, Rowbury, and Martinez is as good as we could ever hope for.

USA women have much higher chances to medal in 1500m than 800m anyway so if Martinez can get the team spot, it could be a blessing in disguise. -

I like the positivity. Good point. -
Will be cheering like crazy for Brenda in the 1500.
-
I've been a fan for four decades, and I have never been so invested in a runner to make the team. Let's hope this will only make her stronger in the 1500.

I'll be devastated for any of these three women not to make the team. Especially Bmart and Jenny. Unfortunately, odds are that at least one will miss out in an upset. -
How can you be that pumped about someone making the team when you know they have no chance of medalling behind Semenya, Niyonsaba and Wambui?
And the 1500 will be vs Kipyegon, Hassan, possibly Genzebe? So maybe your Rowburys and Simpsons have a shot. -
Is there any way she can appeal?? Huge Martinez fan here. She has some incredible grit and I hope she makes the team.
-
I don't want to get into the whether Caster is a he or she, but at least the 1500m seems to be more fair.
-
A tactical 1500m race could work out well for B-Mart.
Montano needs bashing and ridicule. -
All I know is people will be giving her lots of room. She fell off the pace in the 800 and she should have pulled out wide instead of slowing down dramatically in the middle of a crowded pack.
My picks: Rowbury, Efraimson, Uceny
What a great story it would be if Uceny shakes the monkey off her back and hands Brenda the title of "Clumsiest Runner in America" -
Go Brenda!

It was a FINAL.
There is no appeal.
The only thing that USATF can do is punitive and DQ in a FINAL. -

Second that! Add me to her newly minted (and vastly enlarged) fan base following that 800m. I have nothing but admiration for the way she handled herself.
Also, I love New Balance and the fact she is sponsored by them - my favorite running shoe (I have a massive supination and this brand has always been the most reliable and solid for me). I hope that she continues on with the sponsor package she deserves should she miss out in the 1500m in Rio. The 1500m looks like a tough one, and I hope she makes it, but it isn't as clear cut as the 800m was for her I think. I'll protest to New Balance if they cut her package. The woman was robbed in the 800m, and deserves to be treated (and paid) as the top athlete she is. -
Let us hope Gabe's not running everyone over
