Do you own a cellphone? Does it have Google Maps? You could have the answer in seconds. Or wait for some random post.
Indeed, that really was a horrible question. I'm actually sort of amazed by it.

I'm interested in this as well. I find it hard to believe that 'lots of guys' can throw 100 MPH. I have played some baseball and know several very hard-throwing guys who have specifically trained to throw a baseball, and none of them could touch 100. I'd be interested in what a professional thrower could do relatively untrained.

Here is the update.
1) He didn't make the Olympic team so he is available to throw today.
2) I'm having trouble finding a radar gun. I've called Big 5, Dicks, Sports Authority, and Cabeals. They do not sell radar guns - at least here in Eugene.
Guys is leaving in 6 hours. I should have freaking ordered on amazon Thursday night when I ordered some batteries. Not sure why I didn't do that. I think I was worried it wouldn't be available on the 4th and may not get here in time.
Loving these Rojo troll threads the past couple weeks. Way better than the usual LRC staff threads. The ambiguous dog attack stories and the totally preposterous girlfriend advice threads are just not entertaining at all. Keep it up rojo!
Strap a Garmin on the baseball, turn it on, let it sync, put on MPH mode, push start and have him throw. You can do this until the Garmin breaks.
Highly doubt he throws 100 because you can probably count on one hand the number of major leaguers who have thrown that fast (stadium MPH counters are possibly inaccurate). But if he could throw 90 he might get a minor league scout's attention, who knows.

Have him throw for distance. Find a marked field baseball or football. 300ft is equivalent to 90mph. Google for other equivalent distances.
I second this suggestion if you can't find a radar gun. It would be interesting to see how far he can throw. Maybe you can get onto the baseball field and have him throw from home plate.
this is the rojo-iest thread of all time.
No way he throws 100. There's at least a theoretical possibility that this guy could break 90 with a running start, but I'd be shocked if he even breaks 85 from a standing position. There are plenty of MLB outfielders who can hit high 90s on an outfield throw but who couldn't break 90 from a set position.
Rojo, this is like when soccer or football players try to tell us that they know a guy who could be an Olympic sprinter. They're very different disciplines.
Tell the JT guy to order one at home and have his roommate hold it while he throws a ball.
Have someone drive past the guy at 100 miles an hour and have the guy throw the ball exactly as the car passes him. If he can throw 100 the ball will appear to be hanging outside the window like a little planet Earth.
If the Earth is in fact not flat.
I like this post.

Have him throw a set distance and film it. Count the frames from release to target contact.
Amazon sells a "Speed Sensor Baseball" for about $22 with free prime shipping. Reviews say that it works up to 120 mph. At least a few times before breaking.
In Eugene the guy to reach out to would have been Alan Benevides with the Eugene Ems. There is a pitch speed indicator built-in at the PK Park facility. It's minor league baseball, so wacky stunts like this are par for the course.
Cyrus H. knows everyone. He probably could have arranged something for you guys.

Why didn't you just call up the Eugene PD?

Yes.
