He has not hit the Olympic standard this year. Pretty simple.

The standard must be achieved wind legal, all of his jumps were wind aided -

You're an idiot. Of course he has the standard. In a tie in field events it goes to the 2nd best jump/throw. -

Ok, thanks! So, the jump tonight either wasnt the Olympic Standard, or was wind aided? (Guessing #2...). So, did he know as soon as he felt the breeze in his back that he wasnt going to Rio, since he knew he had to hit the standard at the OT? -

But he was listed as third. The fourth place guy made the team, not him. -

I hope you didn't hurt anything coming up with that one... -
So the official 3 are:
Henderson
Lawson
Dendy?
Too bad for Claye, but at least his chances of going to Rio is still good, since TJ is much weaker. -
Is there no qualifying window after the trials to attempt to get the standard?

Living up to your bane, I see!
Go back and look at the results. Go ahead, I'll wait. -
But 4th place finisher Dendy passed his final two jumps due to injury and may not be healthy enough to go to Rio, in which case the fifth place jumper, Michael Hartfield, who does have the q, gets to go.
Absolutely crazy competition, the best in years, which NBC did not bother showing, not even on their digital stream, which gave us yet more boring swimming trials.
Fuct. -
They gave the spot to Chris Derrick.

Will Claye is a rapper!! his main event is triple jump, where he won gold in London!

This has already been explained to you. Tonight's event was wind-aided and doesn't count for an Olympic standard.
Will Claye does not have a LEGAL Olympic standard and did not have one entering the Trials. Hope this helps.
I was also wondering how 27' 7" was not an Olympic standard.
