Maybe track just shouldn't ever be on tv... You guys complain every time about the coverage
Well there is always that option where they can actually show the whole race on tv, have a running time for the race, give splits out for the runners (there is better technology now than 30 years ago), and have somebody just talk about what is happening like they do other sports. All they have to do is show 10 minutes of the race, go to 3 minutes of commercials and come back and show the last 15 minutes uninterrupted. How freaking hard is that? Even if there was a break 12-13 minutes into the race, I could live with that since there would still be 3+ miles to go. That's about the same time between breaks in a baseball game.
To me it's like the store only getting in 6 of something for the holidays and selling out in 2 days and not getting anymore in. The next year they look back and see they only sold 6 so that's all they get this year.
If the networks would actually show the races, they may be shocked by how many people will watch and be interested.
