I know none of us want to read a know-it-all's post after a brutal 10k race, but I have to say, "I told you so"
I've been saying Ben True would not make the 10k Olympic team for 6 months. I said I thought the best he'd do is about 5th. I never waivered.
Ben True, for whatever reason, is believed by many runners to be this incredible racer. He's had a few good ones, but he isn't an Olympics quality athlete. He doesn't belong in the pre-race write up as a favorite. I don't know why everyone thinks that, but they do. It's not logical. Why do people think this?
Tonight showed it and then some.
I promise I will make no more posts about Ben True. I really like him as a runner, but I am an objective guy.
Have a great weekend.
