Rupp just toyed with the field! You know... like a doper!!!
Actually any respectable runner could do that.
on the other hand, maybe it's just the tape. What if that stuff really works?

Considering what Rupp can do in the 5,000, 10,000, and marathon, he is probably the best distance runner in the world right now.
Kamworor would beg to differ.

It remains to be seen if he'll even get the chance to do so. He DNFed his trials.
What were the black patches on his arms?Physio tape on both legs?? anybody know?

Who?
Rupp was impressive. And I don't want to divert talk away from why that is.
However, just as interesting is how Rupp's American competition in the 10K has degraded over the years. I mean if the 2009 version of Ritz was in this race, how do you think he would have done? I think he would have finished 2nd. Rupp would have beaten him handily in the final lap but he would not have "toyed" with Ritz. Solinsky never really was a 10000M runner but needless to say he would have stayed with Rupp in his 2011 form.
Rupp ran 14:20, 13:35.

Absolutely destroyed the field, Rupp doesn't feel heat. So much carnage!
No kidding--3 African-born runners DNFed, with at least 2 flat on their behind on the track surface. I've never seen a 10,000 like that before. Yeah, it was 82 degrees during the race, but what was all that collapsing about? Lagat took water on the backstretch then made it no more than 30m farther.
Rupp was very, very impressive tonight.
I've said it before: Rupp is the best hot-weather runner in U.S. history, along with Joan Benoit.
Also his injury-free consistency provides an insane strength advantage, mentally and physically.

He's getting on the team anyway apparently he just had some dehydration, he ran 8k of the race and apparently is in great shape.
You misspelled "EPO" in your subject line
I wonder how Rupp would prove to your satisfaction that he is clean. I suppose by running slower. It's not so "obvious" to me and others, but I'm sure you're smarter than the rest of us.

Really was an impressive performance. To put so much distance on Kipchirir in the last 150, particularly after a somewhat fast second 5k, and beating fourth place by 50 seconds...he's fit. He's going to get a medal.
You think that a 200m kick after jogging 9,800 on 28:00 pace is impressive?
Zzzzzzz.
If that is knocking it "out of the park" (lame move by the way), it shows how pathetic American distance running is right now. Not surprising two out of three team members weren't US born. Low expectations among domestic US runners.

You must be joking.
5000: 12:58 is barely a world class PR, not even elite. Has never won a major international race.
10,000: 26:44 PR in an era where the marathon equivalent time is no longer even special. That is like 2:07 level. There are literally dozens of runners you can't name with that ability. Slowest silver in the event since 1992, since the 10,000 field is so watered down it shouldn't even be in the games.
Marathon: 2:11. Beat a 40 year-old man and the rest of America, which is all scrubs who can't even get under 2:10.
Best in the world? Not even in the conversation. Kamworor and Kipchoge are as to Rupp as Rupp is to...um...Jenkins.
good by US standards maybe wrote:

Hahahaha comments like this are why I love Letsrun
One thing we got to see last night in the 10,000 was the lineup of runners, the long shaggy haired dude and the rest. Did anyone else notice how heavy some of the runners were?
It's amazing to me that runners that heavy could qualify. Then look at Rupp. Say he's on the juice. Say whatever. The three guys that qualified were LEAN.
In my own humble opinion, that's the difference in almost everyone in that field.
We'll see how the games go, but Rupp is cut in places he wasn't before. I would guess he's five to seven pounds lighter. I wouldn't bet against him.
A beast nails Galen Rupp for breakfast?
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
