And since I hear a Wilfred Kimitei was second, maybe AK will be forced to break the rules on this specific race and bring in both Kamworor and Karoki since Kimitei seems to have only 27:45 PB and not much else. It is time to buy this guy out since his trip to Rio will not amount to much.

Thanks Douglas! Its interesting that Karoki dropped out after 5 laps only and then Kamworor drops out just three laps to the finish. Must have been really hot out there.

Vivian wins by a wide margin, Obiri second and Mercy Cherono third. Wow, Vivian is in very top form! She just destroyed Obiri with a very quick last lap! With this double in two days, there is no doubt she can challenge 30:20 to even 30:00 time in Rio.

I noticed that too. However she looked very smooth and powerful all the way in that race. I do think she will be doubling in Rio though. It is best for her to consolidate her energies to 10000m where she has a better chance at medaling.

I don't think it is a big deal to her considering her diminutive stature. For taller athletes, yes it can hurt and cause 'structural' injuries.

Rudisha third in the 800m, Ezekiel took third in the steeple behind Brimin Kipruto and Consenslus, all three within .3 seconds and fourth was five more seconds back (8:27 at altitude), but no Jairus Birech in the results.

Sometimes when it is hot and the race goes out fast, you will see even top athletes drop out of a 10K or any LD event. When it is really hot, it is a fight to survive and at that point its' not about being the best athlete. Also, some athletes don't run well when it is hot. Kenya does not always schedule events at the best time to take advantage of the cooler temps. Edolbert is pretty cool in the mornings and evenings, but even at 2K feet, it came get pretty hot once the sun is a full tilt.

Btw, they will most likely put Jeff in on the WC, but Bedan is probably out.
