Anyone can get stress fractures. I'm a hobby jogger about 20 pounds heavier than Allie and I got a tibial stress fracture earlier this year (although not full fracture).
I used to think it was something that only afflicted skinnier runners too. I think if it's repeated then yes but one off not necessarily.
I doubt she'll be on best form with the time off but hope she really enjoys the experience!
