Please list your pb's, so as to justify your use of the term "nobody". We all know you're young, so anything less than 4:02/13.48 will be a fail. Further, this poster obviously wanted to stay anonymous. Leave it alone.

It's Bryce McAndrew. He ran a 14:06:07. What would someone like Prefontaine do? Would he just say he can't compete or would he think he's the best regardless. Besides, they are cracking down more and more on dopers.
I say give a couple of years of your life and see how much faster you can get with a larger base buildup. You may be supremely talented in comparison. You just don't know.
You're only young once. You're only fast once. There are plenty of dopers in all sports. Should all the clean and talented people quit all sports or just runners?
If you're under-trained at 14:06 if you trained for your potential and say got a 13:40, you could get sponsors and good money. Look at Sage Canaday 14:16 5k I think, he didn't want to cheat and was too slow for Marathon< but found that his marathon times were so good(2:16) He could get sponsors. So we know a 2:16 is natty and Sage said he really trained hard for the 5k and it was still worse than yours. Just saying if I was you I would train for my maximal potential then see what I could do naturally for a year more or so. Don't throw away a gift..
This made my day. +1
I don't have to list my PRs. Why does someone have to be faster than a professional to comment on the merits of a performance?
Do I have to be able to throw a 95mph fastball in order to tell a kid with a 85mph fastball that he is a nobody?
the number of contract offers that will be extended to 14;06 runners this year is . . .
zero

Your handle can't be "works hard" if you're under-trained...
so is the OP. what's your point?
My point is exactly that. I would respond the same way if a 16:30 5K guy told me he wasn't going pro because of "dopers"
And if a 13:20 college athlete said they weren't going pro because of doping, I'd say "good riddance"
NO ONE CARES ABOUT DOPING! I JUST WANT TO SEE PEOPLE RUN A ROUND A TRACK! I DON'T CARE HOW MANY NEEDLES THEY INJECT OR HOW MUCH BULL SEMEN THEY DRINK!
8/10 in looks. Not becoming a model because of 10/10s
You can go pro in today's world at 14:06? I didn't know that.
Does anyone know Bryce's height and weight? If he's 5'8 and a bit chubby at, say, 150-155 then I'd say lose 10 to 15lbs and see how low you can go. If he's 6'1 and 135, give it up and move into the Olympic Triathlon training program (probably a lot of doping there too but you'll need to get over it).
I see myself as a professional athlete.
But unlike most professional athletes, I only have one long-term, very supportive sponsor---- my workaday self.
The end result of this is that I make huge amounts of money relative to other endurance athletes and I manage to hold onto lots of it. I am free to train and race as I see fit.
Great detective work, but if the OP is smart then he disguised himself a little. Maybe he's a 14:12 guy. Maybe he's actually a 1500 guy but to throw you off the scent he just put a 5k time equivalent in quality to his 1500 time.
At least that's what I would do.
I don't think the message board would exist if posts with these types of phrases were removed...
I am undertrained
My coach doesn't know what he's doing
I was was really in shape for X but my PR Y due to hilly course, allergies, heat, etc
My workouts indicated a 4:12 mile, but my coach made me run the 800 and I ran 2:11...
14:06 is not that good in terms of an athlete going pro and expecting to make a living off it. I know multiple guys who have run 15ish seconds faster and went pro only to pick up a real job at the same time to make ends meet.
You're making a wise decision and it has nothing to do with the state of doping in the sport. Plain and simple that is just not good enough.
You honestly didn't think if you said your time people wouldn't find you out? This sport is literally about times dude, you did this to yourself 😂😂
The OP is posting from the Midwest if it helps. I also will note he started a thread entiled, "Just got word I have to pass a drug test monday morning... Tips and advice?"
So maybe that's also why he's not faster. He's either a) a druggie or b) professional troll.
I think b).
A buddy of mine had texted me saying he was crushing it this summer starting some amazing threads and I know he vacations in the midwest. Maybe it's him.

LRC Sleuths - let's find out who this guy is!
He has practically given us his mother's maiden name with all that info. Clue 1: He's a grown up. We're really getting somewhere! I already pulled all the 14:06 runners into a list, saved in a google doc: bit.ly/98K8eH. Someone pull all the video of all the college 5Ks and 10Ks and go over anybody who ran 14:06. It might be part of a 10K split (even the middle), so make sure you watch the whole thing. College guy, we're never gonna give you up.
I'm choosing [bold]adult[/bold] life over pursuing a professional contract.

His "professional" standing as a troll is no better than his "professional" standing as a runner.
