Again, it's worth reviewing all of Hajo Seppelt's stories on the IAAF. It's important to remember, it's not just the IAAF. Every four years, with millions of viewers watching, IOC sports get their WRs.
All IOC sports benefit from what amounts to anti-doping theater. FIFA disproportionately so, but, Cycling and the IAAF have a broadcast audience outside the Olympic cycle where money is made showing inhuman performances.
