Are you telling me that time converts to roughly a 1:50 high? No way. 8:40s are way more impressive than that.
And if so what does an 8:50-8:55 3200m convert to? 1:52?53? Absurd remark.
I'm too lazy to look it up, but I trust that conversion. However, it's important to remember that we're talking about high schoolers, who generally are less aerobically developed relative to their speed. For that reason, I would say that a 8:50 3200m in HS is more impressive than a 1:50 800m.
Still, what great work by those kids. I bet they're having a blast. Hopefully they can light it up in college.
